Keep the visit on durable surfaces
DBCA asks visitors to protect the fragile environment by keeping to trails. Use designated roads and parking, follow paths and avoid creating shortcuts through vegetation. A crowded day is a reason to be more careful, not to improvise a new parking space or track.
Take all rubbish with you, including small food scraps and packaging. Leave rocks, shells, plants and other natural features where they are, and respect wildlife without feeding or approaching it.
Be considerate of the next visitor
Give people space at lookouts, paths and swimming areas, keep noise considerate and follow instructions designed to manage visitor pressure. DBCA’s guidance prohibits pets and campfires in the park, so plan accordingly before arrival.
Good visitor behaviour also includes accepting limits. If an area is closed, parking is full or conditions are unsuitable, choose another official location or return at a better time rather than shifting the impact onto nearby vegetation and communities.
- Use designated parking, roads and walking trails.
- Do not park on vegetation or create informal tracks.
- Take rubbish out and leave natural objects in place.
- Observe wildlife without feeding or disturbance.
- Respect closures, other visitors and local instructions.
Common questions
Can I bring a dog if I keep it on a lead?
DBCA’s visitor guidance states that pets are not permitted. Check current park rules for any updates or applicable assistance-animal provisions.
What should I do if the area is very busy?
Use only designated facilities and consider returning at another time. Do not create new parking, tracks or access through fragile areas.
